John Rayfield is an assistant professor at Texas A&M. John has been a county extension agent, an agricultural education instructor, a graduate teaching assistant, and an assistant professor at North Carolina State University before assuming his present position at Texas A&M in 2009. His honors include outstanding young agriculture teacher form the Georgia Agricultural Teachers Association in 1999, national FFA outstanding middle school program in 2001, Worth County middle school teacher of the year in 2001, outstanding staff member, College of Agriculture, Texas Tech University in 2005 and outstanding research poster, National Agricultural Education Research Conference in 2007. During his livestock judging career, he has coached eight state champion 4-H and FFA livestock judging teams, judged junior and open livestock shows in 18 differenct states, and served as cattle official at several collegiate livestock judging contests.
