BiographyLydell Meier was born and raised in Stonewall, TX. I was blessed with two brothers, Shane and Tyson, and wonderful parents, Edward and Dianne.
My father was the farm manager for the L.B.J. Ranch, which was a great experience growing up. My brothers and I competed heavily in showing steers and heifers throughout our 4H and FFA days. The highlight of my steer showing was having Champion Hereford Steer at Houston inn 1994. After graduating from Fredericksburg High School in 1995, I attended college at Texas Tech University. While at Tech I studied Animal Science and General Business in which I earned a duel degree in 1999. Also while at Texas Tech, I abandoned my judging team opportunities for my work as a free lance fitter, and with theat gained great knowledge of the cattle industry, being able to work with some of the best cattlemen in the Country. In the Fall of 2001 I left the great state of Texas to persue another great opportunity. I now reside in Clinton, TN with my wife Holly, and our three wonderful kids, Andrew, Annie, and Alyssa. My wife and I own and operate Gamble Angus Farm. In our 150 head operation we focus on raising and selling some of the most elite Angus heifers in the country. Our program has been fortunate to produce numerous National Champions at Denver and Louisville. The success of our program has also allowed me to have the opportunity to fulfill many of my childhood dreams such as judging at both the North American International Livestock Show and the National Western Stock Show.
