Mollie Lastovica has been around the cattle industry her entire life. She is a third generation Angus cattle breeder and was heavily involved in 4-H, FFA and the National Junior Angus Association throughout her youth. Mollie began her livestock judging tenure in 4-H at the age of 11. She completed her 4-H judging career with a bang in 2010 when she placed first high individual at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 4-H and FFA Livestock Judging Contest and first high individual and first individual in oral reasons at the Texas 4-H Roundup State Livestock Judging Contest. During her seven years of judging through 4-H and FFA, she received much recognition at contests including the State Fair of Texas, Texas A&M Aggiefest, Texas 4-H Roundup and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
In addition to her judging career, she raised and exhibited a number of Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Angus Females at Texas major livestock shows including Ft. Worth, San Antonio, the State Fair of Texas and the Star of Texas Fair. In addition, she exhibited the Reserve Champion Angus Steer at Ft. Worth and the Champion Chianina Steer at San Antonio in 2010. She has served as President of the Texas 4-H Council and the Texas Junior Angus Association and was a finalist in the Miss American Angus contest. Her commitment to academics and extra-curricular activities at Texas A&M have kept her from participating on the livestock judging team at the collegiate level, but she continues to help with her family's Angus cattle operation. A current student at Texas A&M University pursuing a B.S. in agricultural communications and journalism and a B.A. in political science, Mollie plans to work in the communications field following her May 2014 graduation.
