Biography

Rod Geppert is the former SDSU South Dakota 4-H Livestock Specialist. Rod's judging experience includes county, state and national livestock shows. He judged the Missouri Block & Bridle, Clay County Fair - Iowa, Montana State Fair to name a few. He has coached several 4-H Livestock teams to National 4-H Livestock Judging Contests that qualified as State Champions and have had success in Denver, Kansas City and Louisville. Rod coordinates and manages all of the 4-H Livestock events at the State Fair, including the SD Summer Spotlight Show. In addition Rod hosts several Livestock Judging Clinics, Oral Reason Clinics and Show Cattle Clipping and Fitting Clinics all across the state as he is a Stock Show University Professor for Sullivans Supply.

Rod is married to Suzy and they have four children, Blaine, Payton, Mataya and Tyanne. They reside on a ranch in central South Dakota where they raise club calves and percentage Simmental cattle that have been very successful in the show ring at jackpots, state fairs and at the national level. The Geppert family have achieved much success in the showring in 4-H and FFA in recent years.

Rod is known for his eye of quality livestock and great with youth in and out of the show ring.
