BiographyEdward Schneider grew up in Marlin, Texas on a ranch that included stocker cattle, a cow calf operation and a 100 sow farror to finish operation. He was an active member of the Falls County 4-H and the Marlin FFA Chapter. He graduated from Marlin High School in 1976 and from Texas A&M University with a BS in Animal Science in 1980 and a Masters of Agriculture Science in 1991.
He has been employed by Texas Cooperative Extension since May of 1980. He began his career in Williamson County, and served there until July of 1984 at which time he transferred to Robertson County. He is starting is 23rd year as an agent in Robertson County.
Schneider grew up showing steers, Angus heifers, barrows, lambs and poultry. He showed steers, heifers and barrows at the majors and the county and lambs and poultry at the county. During his career of showing, he participated in shows at Fort Worth, San Antonio, San Angelo, Houston, Dallas, Waco and the Falls County Youth Fair.
He has been married to Jane Schneider (high school sweetheart) for just over 28 years. Jane graduated with an accounting degree from Texas A&M University in 1980. They have two children, Sarah and Andrew.
Schneider has been fortunate to have been selected to judge many county, regional and state cattle, swine, sheep, goat and poultry shows across the state of Texas and New Mexico. He mainly judges swine and cattle shows. He has very much enjoyed the opportunity to evaluate youth projects and work with 4-H and FFA Youth from across the state.
