BiographyWith extensive knowledge of the worldwide livestock industry, Terri Barber has led the efforts of the Texas Department of Agriculture's Livestock Marketing Program since 2001.
Respected throughout the Texas livestock industry network for her in-depth understanding of agriculture issues, particularly those affecting livestock producers, Terri is passionately committed to serving producers and helping the agriculture industry succeed.
Born to a hardworking West Texas ranching family, Terri has been actively involved with the Texas cattle industry since her childhood. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. After graduation, Terri worked for the American Braford Association as the editor for the association's quarterly magazine and for the International Brangus Breeders Association as the director of Youth, Shows, and Promotions.
Terri is dedicated to representing the hardworking men and women of Texas Agriculture through every avenue possible. She remains abreast of the latest developments in livestock and meat production, marketing, health issues, and consumer trends, and keeps the lines of communication open through regular correspondence and one-on-one visits. She looks forward to helping the livestock industry meet and exceed its long-term goals and objectives through effective marketing, innovative approaches and proven strategies and leadership.
Broadening her involvement within the beef industry, Terri accepted a new branded beef role in July 2007 with Elanco Animal Health in Greenfield, Indiana. This allowed her to work directly with premier branded programs in the U.S. which led to an expanded role with Elanco's newest division - U.S.Food Industry and Consumer Affairs where she collaborated with retail, wholesale and distribution of branded products. Recently, Terri moved back to Texas where she is currently works with beef cattle producers, veterinarians and nutritionists as Elanco's stocker sales representative for Central Texas.
